Expand Your Professional Organizer Business
Grow your Professional Organizer business by branching out into related areas. If you have been doing the same old thing for a while, and are comfortable with it, it may be time to stretch your capabilities and offer something new. 1. Teach Organizing Classes You are an expert in organizing - why not teach classes in the subject? It is a good way to reach prospective clients. People who need your services are the ones who will be signing up for your class. It also helps establish your image as an expert in the subject. Consider offering an advanced or brush-up class to existing clients. This class would be focused on inspiring them to maintain the organizational level that they have achieved with your help. It is a good way to offer support and encouragement to these clients. 2. Expand Your Area of Expertise If you specialize in residential organizing, try taking on some business organizing work. Or try delving into a more specialized niche, such as organizing homes in preparation for being listed for sale. After working in one area for a while, you can tend to get stale. Boredom sets in, and your energy can drop. Working on projects outside of your comfort level can energize and inspire you. Remember how enthusiastic you were when you started your business? You can recapture some of this enthusiasm by expanding into new areas. 3. Reach a Wider Audience Working with individual clients is rewarding, but you can only help one person at a time. Try writing books, articles, or creating an informational website in order to reach more people. This may seem daunting, but you can start small. Start by writing short articles about organizing, and submit them to magazines, newsletters, or websites. After you become more comfortable, you might feel like writing a whole book or starting a website on organizing topics. You will be surprised at how fast your business can grow when you branch out! Pat Doyle has recently expanded her Professional Organizer business by starting an informational website, http://professional-organizer.blogspot.com This article may be republished as long as you keep the full text, author's name, and website link with the article.
